View of the Citadel at Khorsabad

This view is the artist Charles B. Altman's interpretation of the archaeological evidence discovered as part of the excavation of the citadel at Khorsabad. As can be seen in the drawing, the citadel was a fortified section of the city that contained various buildings, including the palace of King Sargon II.
