Plan of Test Pits at Jarmo

This is a plan of the excavations at Jarmo, carried out under the direction of Robert and Linda Braidwood of the Oriental Institute between 1947 and 1955. The plan shows the overall layout of the site, as well as the specific arrangement of the 2x2 meter square test pits dug by the archaeologists as part of their initial survey. The digging of test pits helps excavators to determine the best places to concentrate their efforts.
